Welshpool is the main market town of the upper Severn Valley, sitting right on the Wales–England border and served by the famous Welshpool & Llanfair Light Railway. Offa’s Dyke Path passes through, and the magnificent Powis Castle estate gives outstanding parkland walking on the edge of town.

A lively border market town with good shops and accommodation, Welshpool makes an excellent and practical base for Offa’s Dyke walking and the quiet hills of the Welsh Marches, with the added attraction of one of Wales’s finest castle gardens.
