Strangford is a tiny, perfect village on the narrows where Strangford Lough meets the sea — the most important inlet in Ireland for wildfowl and waders, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and one of the finest walking landscapes in Northern Ireland. The Lecale Way long-distance path begins here.

A beautiful, quiet village with a frequent car ferry to Portaferry and the National Trust’s Castleward Estate (Game of Thrones filming location) close by, Strangford is an outstanding walking base for Strangford Lough and the Lecale Peninsula.
