🚗ChagfordStart Point

Chagford is one of Dartmoor’s most attractive and characterful stannary towns — a maze of narrow streets around an octagonal market house, with the dramatic Teign Gorge and Fingle Bridge, overlooked by Castle Drogo (England’s last great castle, completed in 1930), just two miles away.

An exceptionally characterful and well-served small town with excellent independent shops and restaurants, Chagford is one of the finest gateway villages to Dartmoor, combining easy access to the dramatic Teign Gorge with the open moor beyond.
