🚗NairnStart Point

Nairn is one of Scotland’s sunniest towns — a seaside resort on the Moray Firth with a long sandy beach, a Victorian promenade and some excellent walking in the surrounding countryside. Culbin Forest, the vast planted woodland covering an ancient sand dune system to the west, is a wonderful and unusual walking landscape.

A pleasant, well-served small seaside town with good accommodation, Nairn makes an excellent and often overlooked base for the Moray Firth coast, Speyside and the eastern Cairngorms fringe — and it gets more sunshine than almost anywhere else in Scotland.
