Pontypridd is the gateway to the South Wales Valleys and the start of the Taff Trail — a 55-mile cycling and walking route that follows the River Taff all the way to Brecon. The surrounding valleys offer excellent ridge and forest walking, with Llanwonno Forest and the Rhondda Heritage Trail among the highlights.

A lively valleys town with a famous Victorian bridge and a strong musical heritage, Pontypridd makes a practical base for exploring the Taff Trail and the walking on the ridge tops above the valleys.
