Cushendall is the unofficial capital of the Glens of Antrim — a small, colourful village at the junction of three glens where Glenaan, Glencorp and Glenballyeamon meet the sea. The Antrim Coast Road curves around the headlands north and south, and the Ulster Way passes through. Lurigethan, the prominent flat-topped hill above the village, gives wide views across to Scotland on clear days.
A charming and genuinely Irish village with a good pub, a summer festival and excellent coastal and glen walking on the doorstep, Cushendall is the finest walking base in the Glens of Antrim — a landscape of extraordinary beauty that sees far fewer visitors than its quality deserves.
