Chipping Campden is the northern terminus of the Cotswold Way national trail and arguably the most perfectly preserved of all the Cotswold wool towns. Dover’s Hill, the famous natural amphitheatre above the town, gives sweeping views across the Vale of Evesham and is reached in under 20 minutes from the high street.
The finest starting point for the Cotswold Way, Chipping Campden combines outstanding architecture with immediate access to the escarpment and the long ridge walk south. Several excellent places to stay and eat make it popular for weekend walking breaks.
