Swan’s Way is a 66-mile (106 km) route that, from the Northamptonshire border, crosses the Vale of Aylesbury to meet the Ridgeway near Princes Risborough and then follows the chalk slopes of the Chilterns to the Thames at Goring. It is a multi-user route that can also be ridden on horseback, and there is a link with the Cross Bucks Way at Swanbourne.

The Judges’ Ride (16 miles) is coincident for short sections with Swan’s Way and the Ridgeway, and provides a link to such places as Stoke Row, the location of the Maharajah’s Well.

Closures: the LDWA notes that construction of HS2 has affected rights of way between Waddesdon and the railway line north-west of Aylesbury, with closures that were scheduled to run until May 2026. Check the Buckinghamshire Council register of HS2 closures and diversions before you walk.
