Montgomery is one of the most perfectly preserved small towns in Wales — a Georgian square, a Norman castle on a crag above the town, and a web of quiet lanes and field paths in some of the most peaceful border countryside in Britain. Offa’s Dyke passes immediately east of the town.

A beautifully quiet town with an excellent local pub, wonderful architecture and the Dyke on the doorstep, Montgomery is a gem of the Welsh Marches — relatively unknown even to regular Wales visitors yet absolutely worth seeking out.
