Warkworth occupies a near-perfect defensive loop of the River Coquet, dominated by its magnificent castle (setting for parts of Shakespeare’s Henry IV) and just a short walk from the sea, with Coquet Island and its puffin colony visible offshore and the Northumberland Coast Path passing nearby.

A beautifully sited village with a magnificent castle and the coast just a short walk away, Warkworth makes an excellent and very accessible base for the Northumberland Coast Path’s central section.
