Clun is a tiny, ancient town that A.E. Housman described as one of the quietest places under the sun — a fitting description for this remote corner of the Welsh border, where the Clun Forest hills roll away in every direction and Offa’s Dyke Path runs along the nearby ridge.

An exceptionally peaceful and historic small town with a Norman castle and a five-arched medieval bridge, Clun is one of the quietest and most rewarding bases in the Welsh Marches for genuine solitude walking.
