Malham is one of the most visited places in the Yorkshire Dales, and with good reason — within a short distance of the village lie Malham Cove (a 260-foot curved limestone cliff), the dramatic gorge of Gordale Scar and the glacial lake of Malham Tarn. It is walking country of the highest order.
Malham village has a National Park Centre, several B&Bs and a good pub, making it a popular overnight stop for those walking the Pennine Way or exploring the central Dales. The classic circular taking in Cove, Gordale and Tarn is one of the finest half-day walks in England.
