Hartington is a picturesque White Peak village famous for its cheese shop and duck pond, sitting at the head of the Dove Valley with Beresford Dale and Wolfscote Dale stretching south towards Dovedale, and the Manifold Valley just a short distance west.

A genuinely beautiful village with an excellent cheese shop and good pub, Hartington is one of the finest White Peak walking bases — giving direct access to the full length of Dovedale and the connecting dales without the crowds at the southern end.
