Ashbourne is the southern gateway to the Peak District — a handsome market town of Georgian architecture at the end of the Tissington Trail, with Dovedale just three miles north and the beautiful Manifold Valley beyond. It is one of the best-connected and most accessible walking bases for the White Peak.
A well-served market town with good independent shops and a direct link to the Tissington Trail, Ashbourne makes an excellent and often overlooked base for the southern Peak District — particularly for those who prefer gentler walking to the rigours of the Dark Peak.
