Lurgan is a large County Armagh town at the edge of the Lough Neagh basin — the great freshwater lake that dominates the centre of Northern Ireland. Oxford Island National Nature Reserve, on the Lough Neagh shore just outside the town, is one of the finest birdwatching and walking locations in Northern Ireland.
