Bishop’s Castle is one of the most idiosyncratic small towns in England — a steep, independent-minded settlement with two breweries, numerous quirky shops and immediate access to the Stiperstones, a dramatic quartzite ridge crowned with rocky tors that is one of the most atmospheric landscapes in the Shropshire Hills.

A wonderfully eccentric small town with excellent independent shops, two real ale breweries and direct access to the Stiperstones, Bishop’s Castle is a hidden gem for walkers exploring the southern Shropshire Hills and the Welsh border country.
