Neath is an ancient Roman town at the foot of the Vale of Neath, where the rivers draining the southern Brecon Beacons converge. The Vale of Neath leads north into the spectacular Waterfall Country around Ystradfellte — one of Wales’s most beautiful landscapes of wooded gorges and waterfalls.

A large, practical South Wales town with good rail connections, Neath makes a useful base for the Vale of Neath and the approach to the Brecon Beacons Waterfall Country from the south.
