Strabane is a Foyle Valley border town sitting where the Finn and Mourne rivers meet to form the Foyle. The Sperrin Mountains rise to the east, the Donegal hills are just across the border to the west, and the gentle farmland of the Finn Valley threads south-west. The Ulster American Folk Park is just seven miles to the south-east at Omagh.
A practical border town with good road connections to Derry and Omagh, Strabane makes a useful base for the western Sperrins and the Finn Valley — a quiet, rewarding landscape straddling the Tyrone-Donegal border.
