Wells is England’s smallest city, set around a magnificent medieval cathedral at the foot of the Mendips. Ebbor Gorge — a National Nature Reserve of outstanding beauty — is just two miles away, and the Somerset Levels stretch away to the south.

A beautiful small city with excellent independent restaurants and accommodation, Wells makes a fine base for Mendip walking, within easy reach of Glastonbury, the Levels and Cheddar Gorge.
