Bollington is a former cotton mill town immediately beneath White Nancy — a distinctive white-painted folly on Kerridge Hill that is one of the most recognisable landmarks in east Cheshire. The Gritstone Trail and the Middlewood Way (a former railway line) both pass directly through the town.
A characterful former mill town with two long-distance trails converging and the iconic White Nancy folly directly above, Bollington makes an excellent and well-connected walking base for the Cheshire-Peak District boundary.
