🚗TinternStart Point

Tintern is one of the most celebrated romantic landscapes in Britain — the ruined Cistercian abbey in its wooded gorge has inspired painters, poets and walkers for centuries. The Wye Valley here is extraordinarily beautiful, with high limestone cliffs above and the Wye running swift and clear below.

A small village dominated by its famous abbey ruin, Tintern is a destination walk in itself as much as a walking base, though the surrounding Wye Valley AONB offers days of exceptional walking in every direction.
