Llantwit Major is an ancient and venerable Vale of Glamorgan town — one of the oldest Christian settlements in Britain — set just inland from the finest stretch of the Glamorgan Heritage Coast. The walk east along the limestone cliffs to Southerndown and Dunraven Bay is magnificent, and the beach at Col-huw is one of the most beautiful in South Wales.

A substantial, characterful small town with a strong community and the Heritage Coast on the doorstep, Llantwit Major makes a fine and often overlooked coastal walking base in the Vale of Glamorgan.
