Aldeburgh is the artistic heart of the Suffolk Heritage Coast — a shingle-beach town of painted fishermen’s huts and upturned boat studios with a coastline of extraordinary wildness. The walking north and south along the coast and through the heathland behind is superb.

A beautiful, sophisticated small town with excellent fish and chips and a strong musical heritage, Aldeburgh makes one of the finest coastal walking bases in East Anglia. The coast path north to Dunwich and south to Orford is outstanding.
