🚗BroadfordStart Point

Broadford is the second largest settlement on Skye and the main service hub for the south of the island, sitting in a wide bay with the dramatic profile of Bla Bheinn rising to the west. The Red Cuillin hills above the town give excellent ridge walking with less scrambling than the Black Cuillin, and Kylerhea — reachable by a short drive — is the best place in Scotland to watch otters.

A practical village with shops, a good pub and accommodation, Broadford is the ideal base for southern Skye — giving access to Bla Bheinn, the Sleat peninsula and the Kylerhea ferry, which runs in summer to Glenelg on the mainland.
