Tideswell is a substantial White Peak village known as the Cathedral of the Peak for its magnificent parish church, set amid some of the finest limestone dale walking in the national park. Cressbrook Dale and Litton Dale, both designated nature reserves, run south from the village towards the Wye.
A handsome and characterful White Peak village with a magnificent church and good local pubs, Tideswell makes an excellent base for exploring the finest dale walking in the central White Peak — quieter than Castleton or Bakewell but equally rewarding.
