Princes Risborough sits directly beneath the steep Chiltern escarpment, with Whiteleaf Hill — crowned by a prehistoric chalk cross cut into the hillside — rising immediately above the town. The Ridgeway national trail passes along the ridge, and the Prime Minister’s country residence at Chequers lies in the next valley.

A handsome market town with direct rail access from London Marylebone, Princes Risborough makes an excellent gateway to the central Chiltern Hills, with Whiteleaf Hill giving immediate and spectacular access to the escarpment.
