🚗AviemoreStart Point

Aviemore is Scotland’s mountain sports resort, sitting in the Spey Valley at the foot of the Cairngorm plateau. The surrounding Cairngorms National Park offers an extraordinary range of walking — from the high arctic plateau with its rare wildlife to the ancient Caledonian pinewoods of Rothiemurchus.

A busy resort town with excellent outdoor facilities, Aviemore has a wide range of accommodation and is easily reached by train from Inverness and Edinburgh. The Cairngorm Mountain funicular (where operational) provides high-level access for less able walkers.
