🚗Bourton-on-the-WaterStart Point

Bourton-on-the-Water is often called the Venice of the Cotswolds for its low bridges over the River Windrush, and while the village itself is busy in season, the surrounding countryside quickly becomes quiet and beautiful. The Slaughter villages and the high wolds above Bourton offer lovely, easy walking.

A popular touring base with good accommodation and coach access, Bourton-on-the-Water is best used as a starting point for the quieter villages and wold paths nearby rather than for the village itself at peak times.
