🚗EdaleStart Point

Edale is the starting point of the Pennine Way — Britain’s first and most famous long-distance trail — and sits at the foot of the vast Kinder Scout plateau in the heart of the Dark Peak. This tiny valley village is one of the most iconic walking destinations in England, offering everything from family-friendly valley strolls to challenging moorland crossings.

A natural base for Dark Peak walking, Edale offers direct access to Kinder Scout, the Pennine Way and the Great Ridge. The Hope Valley line brings walkers car-free from Sheffield and Manchester.
