🚗BanbridgeStart Point

Banbridge is a handsome linen town straddling the River Bann, with the historic Newry Canal towpath — Ireland’s first summit-level canal — passing directly through. Knock Iveagh, a prominent drumlin with a war memorial, rises just outside town, and the Dromara Hills are within easy reach to the north.

A pleasant linen heritage town with the Newry Canal towpath as a major asset, Banbridge makes an excellent base for flat, accessible canal walking as well as the gentler drumlin countryside of mid Down.
