🚗PortaferryStart Point

Portaferry sits at the southern tip of the Ards Peninsula, looking across the narrow tidal channel to Strangford village. The lough shore on both sides offers excellent walking, and the rugged Irish Sea coast of the outer Ards stretches away to the north through a landscape of drumlins, sandy beaches and rocky headlands.

A small, pleasant harbour town with a good restaurant and a frequent ferry connection to Strangford, Portaferry is an excellent base for the southern Ards Peninsula and the outer Strangford Lough shore.
