Limavady is a pleasant market town in the Roe Valley with the dramatic basalt plateau of Binevenagh rising immediately to the north and the beautiful Roe Valley Country Park threading south through wooded gorges. The Downhill Strand — a vast exposed beach below the Mussenden Temple — is just six miles north.

A well-served market town with direct road connections to both Derry and the Causeway Coast, Limavady makes a practical and underused walking base for the north-west — particularly for Binevenagh, which is one of Northern Ireland’s most dramatic and accessible upland landscapes.
