🚗DingwallStart Point

Dingwall is the county town of Ross-shire — a small, honest market town at the head of the Cromarty Firth, and the natural transport hub for the central Highlands north of Inverness. Ben Wyvis, the massive flat-topped summit dominating the northern skyline, is accessible from the town.

A practical town with a direct rail connection on the Kyle of Lochalsh and Far North lines, Dingwall makes a useful hub for Ben Wyvis and the Black Isle, with Strathpeffer — a far more characterful walking base — just three miles west.
