🚗BraemarStart Point

Braemar is the highest village in the British Isles — a royal gathering place famous for its Highland Games — sitting at 340 metres in the upper Dee Valley, completely surrounded by Munros. The Cairngorm plateau rises to the north, Lochnagar to the south-east, and the Lairig Ghru — Scotland’s greatest mountain pass — begins just above the village.

A classic Highland village with a Victorian character, excellent accommodation and some of the most spectacular mountain walking in Scotland on the doorstep, Braemar is one of Britain’s finest mountain walking bases.
