🚗Kyle of LochalshStart Point

Kyle of Lochalsh is the mainland gateway to Skye — a small, functional village at the western end of the railway from Inverness, with the Skye Bridge arching across the narrows behind it. The surrounding Lochalsh and Kintail landscapes offer outstanding and very remote mountain and coastal walking.

A small but well-connected village with a direct train from Inverness, Kyle of Lochalsh makes a useful base for the western Highland seaboard and the approach to the magnificent Kintail mountains, which include some of the finest ridge walking in the Scottish Highlands.
