🚗FishguardStart Point

Fishguard is the last town to have been invaded — in 1797, the last invasion of Britain ended in surrender on the town square — and it sits in a dramatic position above a rocky bay, with the wild headland of Strumble Head to the west and the beautiful wooded Gwaun Valley running inland. The Pembrokeshire Coast Path threads through.

A town of genuine character with a lower and upper section, good pubs and the Fishguard International Music Festival, Fishguard makes an excellent base for the northern Pembrokeshire coast and the wild Pen Caer peninsula.
