Liskeard is a substantial market town at the southern edge of Bodmin Moor, with the spectacular wooded waterfall gorge of Golitha Falls just a few miles north and the atmospheric remains of the Caradon copper mining district scattered across the moor above. The Looe Valley stretches south towards the sea.
A practical market town with good rail connections and superb access to the wilder southern reaches of Bodmin Moor, Liskeard makes an excellent base for combining moorland mining heritage with the wooded Golitha Falls gorge.
