🚗EskdaleStart Point

Eskdale is one of the quietest and most beautiful valleys in the Lake District, reached either over the dramatic hairpins of the Hardknott and Wrynose Passes or by the charming narrow-gauge Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway. Scafell Pike can be approached from the head of the dale via the demanding but spectacular Corridor Route.

A genuinely remote and peaceful dale with limited but excellent accommodation, Eskdale rewards those willing to make the journey with some of the finest and least-crowded high mountain walking in the entire Lake District.
