Glencoe is Scotland’s most dramatic glen — a place of brooding volcanic peaks, hanging valleys, waterfalls and a dark history of massacre that gives the landscape its particular intensity. The walking ranges from straightforward valley paths to the Aonach Eagach, which is the most exposed ridge walk on the Scottish mainland.

Glencoe village has a National Trust for Scotland visitor centre, a good range of accommodation and the Glencoe Mountain ski area nearby. It is the essential base for one of Scotland’s greatest mountain landscapes.
