🚗Hay-on-WyeStart Point

Hay-on-Wye is world-famous for its second-hand bookshops and literary festival, but it is also an excellent walking base — Hay Bluff rises dramatically just above the town, the Black Mountains sweep south, Offa’s Dyke passes nearby and the Wye Valley offers beautiful riverside walking in both directions.

A uniquely atmospheric small town with excellent independent bookshops, cafés and restaurants, Hay-on-Wye is a wonderful place to combine walking with browsing. The surrounding countryside is outstanding.
