🚗LlanberisStart Point

Llanberis sits at the foot of Snowdon on the shore of Llyn Padarn and is the main gateway village for those walking the mountain. As well as the Llanberis Path — the most popular route up Snowdon — the village offers excellent lower walking around the lake shores and through the dramatic Dinorwic Slate Quarry landscape.

A busy, workmanlike walking village with a good range of accommodation, cafés and outdoor gear shops, Llanberis is the most popular base for Snowdon, though the mountain can also be reached from Pen-y-Pass (by Sherpa bus) for different route options.
