This is walk 8 from “Country Walks in the Rugby Area” by Jim Watson.A fairly gentle circular walk from just outside Marton eastwards to Frankton. The route actually starts heading north west (from the pub car park which is the start of the route), close to a loop of the River Leam, then circles back to the main road before heading east. You pass Windmill Hill (which doesn’t seem to have a windmill on it any more…) along a track which becomes more established as you get into the nice looking village of Frankton, with a decent pub as the far point of the walk. After leaving the pub, head south west along a road which becomes a track passing ponds, and then a field edge path through fields of cows and horses back to the main road (meeting up with the River Leam again first).
