A circuit of Herefordshire visiting five market towns in the county, some delightful villages and attractive and fertile countryside, including Golden Valley watered by the River Dore, a tributary of the Monnow, and black and white villages and orchards and woodland. Ringbound colour guide dividing the route into 15 manageable sections of around 16km/10 miles each, most with public transport connections, with detailed route descriptions, tempting photos and very clear maps.
Along the way are pretty rural churches, castle ruins and other historic features together with country inns and farmhouses offering bed and breakfast. The market towns each have their own character but all have a range of hotels, guest houses, restaurants and pubs. The River Dore flows through Golden Valley, traversed by the Herefordshire Trail, before joining the Monnow. The Monnow is walkable but the route guide is going out of print.
