The walk is The Kirkburton Circular with parts of The Shelley Welly Walk both in the reverse direction to usual. It does not start from Kirkburton either, but from Upper Cumberworth. The route starts from the car park at the Star Inn, heading down to Kirklees Light Railway and follow to Shelley High School, across fields to the Three Acres Pub, downhill to Kirkburton and across A629 to Storthes Hall area. The return is across the railway towards Stocksmoor, close to Shepley and Snowgate Head and down to Park Head and back to start.
