18 mile circular walk starting from Chipping Camden via Cotwolds Way to Winchcombe.
Starting in the charming town of Chipping Campden, you’ll follow the Cotswold Way signs through narrow lanes and beautiful countryside. The trail takes you up onto the Cotswold escarpment, where you’ll be rewarded with stunning views of the surrounding landscape.
From here, the trail leads you across open fields and through pretty woodland, passing by landmarks like the Neolithic long barrow at Belas Knap and the imposing iron age hill fort at Cleeve Hill. Along the way, you’ll encounter charming villages like Stanton and Snowshill, where you can take a break and enjoy a spot of tea or a bite to eat.
The final stretch of this section takes you through beautiful farmland and pastures, with the occasional steep climb and descent to keep things interesting. As you approach Winchcombe, you’ll get your first glimpse of the town’s historic church spire and ancient castle ruins.
