Starting from the car park in Castleton the walk proceeds through the village and across fields towards Hope, Brough and Shatton before following the river Derwent to Leadmill Bridge. The track shown takes a detour to the Plough Inn before returning to Hathersage. The finish point is at Sladen Lodge after passing through the village.
